Wedding reception
Now that the ceremony has come to a conclusion, it's time for the couple and guests to make their way to the wedding reception unless the ceremony and reception are the same venue.
Music usually starts slowly before the couple arrives at reception so the guests that arrive earlier will enjoy some background music being played. As soon as the couple arrives the entry song is played and the music normally stays soft and chilled during the 1st to 3rd hour (depending on how long the wedding is) - This gives guests and the couple time to meet and greet after-which the first dance commences - Lights down, music up, All eyes on the couple. The first dance is following by some top of the range dancing moves which is followed by the cake cutting. This timeline is subject to change depending on what the couple would like, nationality and other factors.
Apart from playing the music during the wedding reception the DJ is there do more duties like ensuring that the wedding timeline is being followed, could play music during cocktail hour and ceremony, provides sound and lighting equipment, does sound checks, includes special mashup, remixes and bootlegs and much more.
