Conference and MICE Production in Malta: A Practical Guide

Malta has become a genuinely popular choice for meetings, incentives, conferences and events. It is easy to reach from most of Europe, the venues are impressive, and delegates get a destination that feels like more than a function room. We provide the technical production for these events, and they are a different discipline from party work.

Daytime production is about clarity

A conference day is not about atmosphere, it is about every delegate at the back of the room hearing and seeing clearly. That means even sound coverage rather than raw power, a lectern microphone plus enough handhelds and lavaliers for panels, screens sized and positioned for the furthest seat, and reliable playback for videos and presentations. A technician stays on the desk throughout, because a conference has no quiet moment in which to fix something.

Panels are harder than keynotes

A single speaker at a lectern is straightforward. Four panellists passing microphones, interrupting each other and turning away from the audience is where events come unstuck. We plan a microphone per panellist wherever possible, with a chair microphone and audience microphones for questions, and we mix it live so nobody disappears mid sentence.

Staging, screens and sight lines

Raising presenters even a little transforms sight lines for a seated audience. Add staging with skirting, a lectern, and screens placed so they do not compete with the speaker, and a room instantly reads as a produced event rather than a hired hall. For larger conferences an LED wall gives you brightness that survives a room with daylight, which many Maltese venues have in abundance.

Branding and the incentive evening

MICE programmes usually pair a working day with an evening event, and the transition is where good production earns its money. We plan the room turnaround in advance: the conference set down, the lighting changed, the room rebranded and the evening rig ready before delegates return. Company colours in the uplighting and a logo projection tie the two halves together.

Multi day programmes

Conferences often run across several days and rooms, sometimes across venues. That needs a production schedule, a named contact who is on site throughout, and enough equipment held in reserve that day two is never compromised by day one. Because we own our inventory rather than sub hiring, we can commit to that.

Most MICE work reaches us through a destination management company or planner, and we are comfortable working as part of a wider team, to their timeline and their client reporting. We provide procurement ready documentation, insurance and PAT certificates as standard.
