If there is one upgrade couples ask us about more than any other, it is adding a live saxophonist to the DJ set. It is easy to see why. A DJ gives you the full range of music and the ability to read the room. A saxophone playing live over those tracks adds energy, movement and a real performer in the middle of your guests. Why live sax over a DJ set works
The magic is in the combination. The DJ holds the groove and the crowd, while the saxophonist improvises on top, lifting the big moments and playing directly to the dancefloor. Our featured saxophonist, Justine Sax, performs everything from Ibiza style house to laid back classics, moving through the crowd rather than staying on a stage. There are two sweet spots. The first is cocktail hour, where a relaxed, melodic sax set gives your arrival drinks a sophisticated, warm feel while people mingle. Typical set lengths
Live performance works best in focused bursts rather than playing non stop. A common approach is a couple of sets of around 30 to 45 minutes, timed to the moments that matter, so the sax always feels special and never becomes background. We plan the exact timings with you and the DJ in advance, and we adapt on the night if the room is telling us something different.
