Artists / Justine Sax
Saxophonist
Chilled and jazzy through the ceremony and the cocktail hour, then out onto the dancefloor with the DJ, playing among your guests rather than at them.
Justine is based in Malta and originally from Poland. She has worked with Malta DJ Events for over three years, which started as a simple collaboration at a single function and grew from there into a regular part of what we do.
She plays across the island and travels around Europe for destination weddings. For anything outside Malta there is a travel fee, which we include in the quote up front rather than adding later.
The music before the first dance and the music after it are two completely different things, and that is the point of booking her.
Through the ceremony, the cocktail hour and dinner the sound is chilled and jazzy, bossa nova and lounge, sitting under the conversation rather than competing with it. It gives the earlier part of the day a live, unhurried feel.
After the first dance, or any time she is playing alongside the DJ, it turns upbeat. Same saxophone, completely different energy, live over the set the DJ is already running.
01
Justine plays the chilled, jazzy end of her repertoire through the ceremony and drinks, either alongside the DJ or on her own with backing tracks.
02
Her saxophone microphone is wireless, so she is not tied to a stage. During dinner she moves around the tables and plays to your guests where they are sitting.
03
Justine can play the entrance as part of the bridal party rather than from the side of the room, which makes an entrance out of what is otherwise a walk.
04
We ask you well in advance which song you have chosen. If it is one she can join musically with a saxophone line, she will happily play over it.
05
After the first dance she plays upbeat, live over the DJ set. This is the part most couples book her for.
06
If the room is with her, she leaves the stage and plays out among the dancing. Guests film it, and it turns a performance into something they were part of.
The practical side, so you know what you are booking.
Originally from Poland, based in Malta and playing across the island all season.
Comfortable working around Europe. A travel fee applies for anything outside Malta and is quoted up front.
Justine has her own saxophone and wireless microphone. Everything else comes from us.
Working with Malta DJ Events for over three years, so the handover with the DJ is rehearsed, not improvised.
No cable and no fixed stage position, which is what makes the dinner and dancefloor moments possible.
Justine is in high demand and her calendar fills up quickly. Once you have your date and venue, talk to us.
Justine plays across the Maltese venues and we have long standing relationships with them, which makes the setup on the day straightforward.
