A boat party is a brilliant idea and a genuinely different technical challenge. You have limited power, salt air, movement underfoot, no way to fetch a forgotten cable and a hard finish time. It is also one of the most memorable settings for music anywhere in Malta, so it is well worth getting right.

Power and sound on boats

Most charter boats have limited electrical capacity, and running a full club rig from it is neither realistic nor safe. Our answer is battery powered equipment. Battery speakers with built in mixers and wireless microphones cover most boat parties comfortably, and battery LED tubes give you light and colour with no cables at all. Where a boat does have solid power we can scale up, but we plan for independence first.

What we bring

A typical boat setup is a battery speaker system sized to the deck and guest count, a compact DJ controller, wireless microphone for hosting or speeches, and wireless lighting for the evening leg of the trip. Everything is chosen to be quick to load, secure once placed and resistant to the conditions. We also bring spares, because you cannot pop back to base mid charter.

Popular routes and timing

Sunset cruises are the most requested, and for good reason. The music can start relaxed while there is still light, build through golden hour and then turn into a proper party after dark. Comino and the Blue Lagoon are perennial favourites, as are trips along the Sliema and St Julians coast. We plan the set around the light rather than the clock, since the sunset is the moment everyone photographs.

Practical advice

Tell us the boat, the charter company and the number of guests when you enquire. Boats differ enormously in deck space and power, and knowing the vessel lets us bring exactly the right setup. Also confirm your finish time early, since charters are strict and the music has to be packed down before you dock.
